Resource Description: 

Come fuel your sense of adventure, whether you're new to backpacking or interested in improving your skills. This week-long course is designed for students who want to become familiar with the ecology of the Eagle Cap Wilderness while learning how to backpack. Students will learn minimum impact camping skills and explore backpacking skills including how to use a camp stove and cook in a wilderness setting, set up a tent, pack a backpack, use a map and compass and stay safe in the backcountry. This course also includes applied field research. Students participate in an US Forest Air Quality research project by collecting data and learning field research techniques.
