Oil Spill Discussion Guide Northwest Earth Institute
Our Just Below the Surface discussion guide, FREE to Oregon High schools east of the Willamette!
We have found that many high school teachers are looking for active classroom methods to engage their students around the concepts of sustainability.
We’ve been reaching out to high school teachers to announce our newest discussion guide Just Below the Surface: Perspectives of the Gulf Coast Oil Spill. We’re thrilled to offer this supplemental guide free to Oregon high schools!
The Northwest Earth Institute is a non-profit that works to transform the educational experience by creating discussion focused books. A number of schools will be handing out our Just Below the Surface booklet during a class session in April, May, and June to highlight Earth Day and the one-year anniversary of the spill.
Just Below the Surface is meant to engage students, teachers, and administrators in a process that encourages peer to peer learning, community building, shared discovery, personal reflection and positive action.
