This workshop will provide teachers with lectures covering climate change issues and teaching curricula and activities for the classroom.
The course has been reviewed and approved by the OSU Fisheries and Wildlife Department.
Evaluation of the workshop is requested at the conclusion of the session.
To build a awareness and understanding of how climate change is being expressed in various biomes such as boreal forests, rain forest, coral reefs, etc,
To address other C02 emissions issues including the acidification of ocean waters and its threat to the food chain and sea level rise.
To discuss energy problems and issues of wind and solar energy, fossil fuels and nuclear energy and research for lower emissions alternatives.
To provide teaching activities that address the issues and impacts of climate change
To provide teaching materials and activities that empower students to address energy conservation and reduce their C02 emission.
Develop an awareness of the need for energy conservation.
Develop an awareness of the need to move away from fossil fuels to lower emission energy sources
To build an awareness of the choices of lower emission energy sources that are available and currently under development.
$50.00 tuition
$25.00 admission fee to Oregon State University if applicant has not been a student at OSU previously.
