Clackamas Community College's Environmental Learning Center
The John Inskeep Environmental Learning Center (ELC), originally created from an abandoned jam cannery, is a 5-acre site located on the Clackamas Community College campus in Oregon City. The ELC offers a shared space for wildlife habitat and environmental education for children, families and adults.
At the ELC, you can:
Explore our trails where you'll find more than 250 different species of native and ornamental plants.
Discover fish, ducks and turtles in our ponds.
Listen to the rhythm of water that forms Newell Creek.
View buildings and bridges made out of recycled materials.
Observe stars and planets through a 24-inch telescope in the Haggart Observatory.
Experience the wonder of watersheds through hands-on interactive school programs for elementary-age school students.
Build new environmental education skills through professional development workshops.
The John Inskeep Environmental Learning Center (ELC) is a program of Clackamas Community College
The site is open daily from dawn to dusk. $2.00 donation is suggested.
